Meadow Park Academy

Where learning takes root and imagination takes flight

Proud to be part of

Safeguarding

At Meadow Park Academy, safeguarding children is extremely important to us. We believe that every child regardless of age has at all times and in all situations a right to feel safe and protected.

We work together with social care, the police, health services and other agencies to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm. This includes following the local inter-agency procedures of Reading Borough Council’s Safeguarding Children Board.

Every complaint or suspicion of abuse from within or outside the school will be taken seriously and in all proper circumstances will be referred to these external agencies.

We hope that parents and children will feel free to talk about any concerns and will see school as a safe place if there are any difficulties at home. Working closely with children and families means we are in a position to identify concerns early and provide help for children to prevent concerns from escalating.
