Meadow Park Academy

Where learning takes root and imagination takes flight

Meadow Park Academy has an agreed admission number of 60 pupils per year group. This means we will admit 60 pupils in the relevant age group each year if enough applications are received.

We are currently in a consultation period for our admissions policy and are not looking at making any changes to the existing policy for the academic year 2020-21.  Should you wish to make any comments regarding the current admissions arrangements, then please contact Mrs Gericke at the school office on

How to apply for a place

Applications for places at Meadow Park are made through Reading Borough Council’s co-ordinated admissions scheme, and parents should complete their home Local Authority Standard Application Form.

Each year our admissions process follows the schedule below to fit in, wherever possible, with the common timetable agreed by Reading Borough Council.

Admissions timeline*

*Please note that exact dates within the months may vary from year to year.

September - We will publish information about the arrangements for admission, including oversubscription criteria, for the following September (e.g. in September 2019 for admission in September 2020). This will include details of open evenings and other opportunities for prospective pupils and their parents to visit the school.

Please note that, to be considered for admission, all applicants must complete and submit their home Local Authority’s Standard Application form, including Meadow Park as one of their preferences. The school will also provide information to the Local Authority for inclusion in the composite prospectus, as required.

September/October – We will provide opportunities for parents to visit Meadow Park.

November – Parents receive the Standard Application Form from their home Local Authority to complete, returning it by mid-January to their home Local Authority to process.

February – Reading Borough Council receives the admissions data for Meadow Park Academy and forward this admissions data to the school (regardless of preference).

March – The school sends a list of their 60 offers of places to Reading Borough Council.

April – Reading Borough Council returns the names of the students being offered a higher preference elsewhere. Meadow Park Academy submits replacement offers.

April – An offer of a place at the school is sent out by post to parents by Reading Borough Council. Parents of children who do not live in Reading will be notified by their home Local Authority.
